Subject: question about Mary Harriett, dau. of Edward, Duke of Kent
Hello June,
I am a descendant of Mary Harriett, half-sister to Queen Victoria. The o nly information I have on her is that she was the daughter of Edward, Duke of Kent, and her mother was a member of the royal court at Buckingham Palace. She was born March 12, 1818, and married a stone mason (Blythe Jackway Morter) who was doing work at the palace. They fell in love, married and moved to the United States (South Salem, Ohio). The couple had 6 children (two of the children are Emily and Forrest). Mary died April 16, 1852. I would like to write a book about Mary & Blythe's life...it is a very tragic romance. Any information you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.
