Individual:
James Military records shows Agnes as a next of kin in 1897. S
Charles Watson reported that Mary died in 1889, viz. the year after her husband died. However, Charles did not provide any details of date and place, as he did for other rites of passage. Search of the GRO BMD failed to find any death registration, and the records for son Charles (1892) and James (1897) both indicated that Mary was alive, address unknown.
It appears that Agnes went to live with her sister (Amelia Corneilus, and brother in law John) after the death of her husband. The sons may have stayed with the grandparents for a short time, before being placed in homes. Agnes probably when into domestic service, as a cook.
I surmise that in fact she left the boys, leving them to their grandparents and Children s home to be cared for. The story of her death was just that, a cover story possibly made up by Isabella for Charles Watson, similar to the RIR school.
It is interesting that she was known to be alive, by the boys, but her address was unknown, suggests there was not a lot of contact with boys after they were put in the homes, aggrevated by the frequenct the Cornelius family moved home.

5 Lewisham High St, St Paul Deptford
This house was one of a row of 2 str. terraced houses close to the railway line
No.5 Lewisham High Street was south of Granville Park, between the railway bridge and Cressingham Road. No.1 was the original Lewisham railway station, which was converted into shops when the station moved to its present site in the 1850s. Nos.3 to 11 formed a terrace of small cottages, probably of the eighteenth century. No.11 appears in photographs of the King's Hall cinema, which replaced no.13 in 1912, but has itself now gone. No.5 was destroyed with the rest of the cottages by bombing during the Second World War.
