He was listed as number 17 on the roll at St. Paul's Luthern Church when it wasbuilt in 1840, near Statesville, North Carolina. His name was followed by "removed" to indicate that he left the area and it did not show on the 1849 rosterof the church. He probably moved to Stanly County several years before his marriage in 1847.
