Robert was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee. He is the son of Robert
and Lydia Ann (Owsley) Housley. He lived in Sullivan County until 1839.
He is present on the tax lists for that county from 1827-1839.
On October 22 1827 he married Lucinda Childers, who was born in South
Carolina. Robert and Lucinda had at least 2 children born in Tennessee
according to the 1830 Sullivan County Census.
All Decendents of Robert and Lydia Ann whom are now alive had believed
Robert to have died. There was no mention of him after 1839 in Tennessee
after that time, but alas we have been able to locate him and his
decendents.
The family left Tennessee, and settled in Morgan County, Illinois.
Robert and Lucinda had at least two more children in Morgan County,
Illinois, those being George Madison and John Wesley Housley. According
to the Obituary that was written up on George Madison the family left
Morgan County, Illinois for Davis County, Iowa around 1846. The family
had located to Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa and was present on the 1850
