Abiah Waterman (Joseph3, Joseph2, Robert'), born at Marshfield MA., 11 Dec. 1714, died at Middletown, Conn., 27 Feb. 1782 ae. 67; married first, at Scituate MA., 4 June 1730, JOHN EELLS, born at Scituate, 15 Feb. 1708/9, drowned in NC, 24 Aug. 1750, son of Rev. Nathaniel and Hannah (North) Eells; married second, at Middletown [Cromwell), 22 Sept. 1765, Elijah Miller Her number in the Mayflower Index is 36,813 and 36,814. The date of birth of John Eells is probably an error in the original record, for he was baptized 23 Jan. 1708/9. John Eells and Abiah his wife of Scituate sold on 12 Dec. 1735 to Zebulon Waterman of Norwich, Conn., land which James Birchard sold to Mr. Joseph Waterman, late of Marshfield, dee'd; deed witnessed by John Magoun, Jr., and Thomas Waterman [Land Rec. Norwich, 7-337]. The will of John's mother, Mrs. Hannah Eells of Scituate, dated 1Sept. 1752, mentioned the children of son John dec'd, and gave specific legacies to her granddaughters, Hannah Eells and Abiah Eells, daughters of John. Waterman Eells of Middletown, Conn., shipwright, was appointed administrator of the estate of "John Eells late of Scituate in the Co. of Plimouth Cordwainer deceased," 14 Nov. 1760; the inventory, presented three days later, showed an estate of only 8.4.5.lbs [Probate Rec. Plymouth Co., 17-3; 16-40.] Children of John and Abiah (Waterman) Eells, born at Scituate MA. i. (1) at Scituate, 30 Nov. 1758, Mordecai Lincoln, b. at Philadelphia PA., May 1734, d. at Middletown (Cromwell], Conn., 30 Nov. 1772, son of Abraham and Rebecca Lincoln; m. (2) at Middletown, 8 May 1777, Daniel Savage, b. at Middletown, 11 Oct 1742, d. there 17 Jan. 1812, son of William and Sarah (Savage) Savage. iv.
