Jimmie Jewel (Isom) Martin was the daughter of Greenberry Floyd Isom (b. 25 Aug 1860 TN, d. 10 Jan 1941 TX) + Bitha Elizabeth Keith (b. 17 Jul 1865, d. 12 Mar 1944 TX) (these dates from the Isom family bible) One of their children was also named Greenberry Floyd, which creates confusion since there was another father/son combo out there with the same name, the elder of which may have been a half-brother of this G.F. Isom's father. Confused yet? - Greenberry Floyd Isom's parents were: Valentine Caroll Isom (b. 6 Mar 1830 TN, d. 1 Apr 1862, killed in the Civil War, serving in 41st TN Infantry, last name listed as ISHAM on 1850 census) + Mary Ann Connell (b. 1822 TN) V.C. Isom/Isham's parents were: James Isom/Isham (b. 25 Nov 1789 SC, d. 12 Apr 1874, Lincoln Co. TN) + Altamira Rhea (b. ABT 1801 TN, d. AFT 1860, Lincoln Co, TN). Note that Altamira Rhea is a direct descendant of Matthew "The Rebel" Campbell, who participated in the Monmouth Rebellion in Scotland in 1685. Rhea family lore has it that he escaped imprisonment and execution by bribing is jailor at Peel Castle on the Isle of Man, then fled to Ireland, where he participated in the Siege of Londonderry. He changed his last name to Reagh to conceal his identity, which became Rhea when his descendants settled in the New World. - Bithia Elizabeth Keith's parents were: John P. Keith (b. 4 September 1839 Lincoln Co, TN, d. 18 Mar 1914, Taylor Co., TX) + Elvalina Soloman Yant (b. 7 Nov 1837 Lincoln Co, TN, d. 8 Apr 1910 Taylor Co, TX). John P. Keith's parents were: William Francis Keith (b 1805, d. 18 Jun 1882 TN) + Bethia Collins.
Elvalina Soloman Yant's parents were Moses W.
