Gentleman, Left the immediate neighborhood of Berry-Pomeroy, and was the first Pomeroy of this branch of the family to settle permanently in Western Dorset, at Netherbury, which adjoins both Simondsbury, where Richard and Eleanor died in 1612, and Beaminster, where Eltweed was born. Earlier reasons for John's elder brother Henry being the grandfather of Eltweeed were disproven by our commissioner in England who demonstrated by record that John was the ancestor.
