The WILLEY/GREEN Family Tree is the result of four years extensive research both on the Internet, using information sent to me by other researchers, census records and various research sites including Ancestry.com and RootsWeb.com in addition to many other research tools; combined with research at several county libraries and court houses and the Family Research Center of the LDS church in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am sure as you look it over, you will find some mistakes, I will gladly correct anything where you can provide legitimate proof of the difference and will make a note of any corrections/additions you may wish to inform me of.
This tree includes the following family names including many others:
WILLEY, CUMMINGS, THOMPSON, REARDON, LEIGHTON, BLETHEN and EDGERLY. These families arrived in the Colonies in the 1600's from England and Scotland and settled in ME, MA & NH
GREEN, WHITE, SPARKS, LYON, PORTER GILLENWATER, COCKE/COX, DUNCAN, WALKER & STALLARD. My ancestors in these families also emigrated from England and Scotland in the 1600's into VA and migrated through the Carolina's and Tennessee to settle in Eastern Kentucky.
RENFROE, HUNTER, BARKER, HOLBOOK & JORDAN. The RENFROE's ancestry descends from Baron James Renfrew, exiled from Renfrewshire, Scotland to France; the Hunter's probably emigrated from Germany; the other's from Scotland and England. My branches of these families came into VA and the Carolinas and migrated through TN into Eastern Kentucky where they settled in Harlan County.
JONES, HUGHES, THOMAS, LETTERMAN & GOOCH families emigrated in the 1600's to settle in NC. The Joneses are from Wales. Aaron Thomas, Sr came to NC from Florida and noone is sure where he emigrated from. The remaining families are from England. My Jones ancestors stayed in NC for several generations. My great-grandfather being the first to relocate into Tennessee and my grandfather into Harlan Co, KY.
My ancestors of the STEWART, MIDDLETON, DEAN, HOWARD, TURNER, CHADWELL & BRITTIAN families emigrated in the 1600's from England and Scotland into VA & NC. From there they migrated East, settling in Harlan Co, KY.
There are many more family names in this GEDCOM of almost 19,000 persons.
If you do not find a descendant here or documentation listed, I do not have the information.
