Individual:
April 18,1855 Issue of the Augusta , Georgia Chronicle and Sentinel:
A few days since we published a paragraph from a Savannah paper, stating that three men had been killed in a fight in Emanuel County. yesterday we received the following account of the affair, from a citizen of that county.
the letter does not inform us what was the provocation or whether any had been previously given. We presume, however, it was some private feud which had been rankling for some time in their bosoms: "on the second day of
April, Matthew and Samuel Williamson, and some others went to Mr. Wilkes, where there was a party of men, and called to them to come out. Mr. J. Mosley went out to them, when he was knocked down with a gun, having his
jaw bone broken, and his brother Cuyler Mosley stooped down to pick him up, he was stabbed through and died instantly. Then both parties began to fire, in which Matthew Williamson was killed and Samuel Williamson wounded-he has since died. several others got balls through their clothing. None of either party has, as yet, been arrested. Samuel Williamson did not die but was indicted for manslaughter in April 1855 court of Emanuel County, Georgia.
Note* Cuyler P Mosley lived in Montgomery County, Georgia and when he was killed he was buried in the same cemetery as his brother Clement T Mosley in Emanuel Co, Georgia. The Mosley's and Williamsons were neighbors and this feud has lasted at least 100 years. No one knows what started it.

I found in the Emanuel County, Georgia Superior Court minutes, in 1855, where John Mosley was indicated for manslaughter. His wife Mary Wilkes Mosley died on July 26, 1955. Did both of these people somehow get involved in this scrape?
From "Moseley Families of Mont...
