And graduated in 1906 with a two year teaching certificate. which is now Western Michigan University. Was a Teacher at Puget Sound College at Tacoma, WA. When he married Pearl Doretta Carter at Montesano, WA. on Dec 25 1917, at the home of Dr. Joseph Hamilton Fitz and his wife, Della Hall Fitz, daughter of John Wesley Hall and Catherine Waggaman. The address at Tacoma, WA. was 32 North E Street where I was born, they then moved to Grants Pass, OR.
Was a Teacher and Basketball, Track Coach at the High School, Grants Pass, OR. Lived first on "D" St. where my sister was born and then moved to "A" St. Then in 1937 took a position as a Teacher and a Basketball Coach with "Armstrong Business College" in Berkeley, CA. Lived first on Stuart St. in Berkeley. At which time had several boys which attended Armstrong College boarded with us. At Armstrong's College, he taught Accounting, and Typing. After a few years at 2206 Stuart St, Berkeley, CA. We moved to 3325 Blake St. which was a House with seven Bedrooms. They (Pop & Mom) with the help of my Grandparents bought the house and turned it into a Boarding House for girls which attended Armstrong College. We had Girls from around the World, Manila, Guam, Hawaii, and all the West Coast States, Mainly the girls were from California. Mom would do the cooking and Pop would clean up, along with me. I believe that at times we had at least twelve (12) girls living with us, thru out the years. Where did I sleep, I had a room in the Basement. Always something going on, the Girls called themselves "The Deal House Girls".
