Individual:
Lt. Thomas was engaged in the business of tanning, having succeded his father Philip. During his lifetime there wa a movement in which a considerable number of the New England Congregationalists sought a more literal observance of the commandmentsof the Bible in life and in worship. The second Congregatinal Church was organized in Enfield, known as the Strict or Separate Church, and LT. Thomas was chosen a Deacon.
The new church movement was not permanent, and he returned to the First Congregatioal Church, of which he died a member. He undoubtedly was a conscientious Christian with a good standing in the community. He seems to have been a prominent man.
Thomas and Mary are not related, Thomas is up Philip Parsons line and Mary is up Deacon Benjamin Parsons line.
