[v22t2232.ftw] G.F. Maughmer writes: The family "moved from Ohio to Clay County, Missouri 1868 where William died 2 April 1874 leaving Jane with 10 children. She moved them to McPherson County, Kansas in a covered wagon in 1879. Two years later she bought 160 acres near Conway for $2800, paying $1400 cash and 24% interest on the balance. In addition to operating the farm with the help of her children, she worked as a midwife and practical nurse."
