Individual:
Anne Lake married nobly. Her first husband, John Cotton, was grandson of the famous Rev. John Cotton (1585-1652), known as the Patriarch of New England; and of Governor Simon Bradstreet, and his wife, Anne (Dudley) Bradstreet, America's first poet. (SEE DUDLEY FAMILY)

Her second husband was the famous Rev. Increase Mather, whose first marriage, to a sister of Anne's first husband, had produced the equally famous Rev. Cotton Mather, Anne's stepson.
