James was the second Justice of the Peace of Danbury, succeeding his father. He was a Captain of the Militia, and Deacon of the Church, as his father was before him. He aided in the settlement of Canaan, Connecticut. In the Probate Records of Danbury, the will of Captain James Beebe speaks of his wife as Jane___.
