Individual:
The village of Southoe is located one mile south of Didington. The parish church was dedicated to St. Leonard and is of very ancient foundation. Rev. Payne was induced to acccept the rectorship of this church October 20, 1600. He preached there for thirty-five years, up to the year of his death. He was buried at Southoe Sept. 20, 1635.
