This is the ongoing research of the ancestors and descendents of Ambrose Bull, circa 1750, and his wife, Elizabeth Johnson.
It is believed that Ambrose was the son of Robert and Rachel T. Bull and the grandson of Thomas and Susannah Bull, Sr.
The earliest records of Thomas and his son Robert show them on the Virginia Deed (Rent) Book Number 6. After selling their property, they moved to the New Bern District in Craven County, North Carolina.
Ambrose was a soldier in the American Revolutionary War. Elizabeth, his wife, applied for his pension benefits after his death. Those were filed in the State of Georgia. The Bull family moved to Jasper County then Pike County in Georgia.
After Ambrose's and Elizabeth's death, James Hogan Bull and his family moved to Old Brooke (now Brookhaven), Lawrence County, Mississippi. He became the first postmaster of Old Brooke. Later, he served eight years as the Magistrate. James H. Bull served two terms as a Legislator, representing Lawrence County, 1823 & 1825 terms.
In the 1830s, the James Hogan Bull family moved to Yazoo County, Mississippi. They were briefly joined by Robert Bull, J. H. Bull's brother, before the Robert Bull family moved to Arkansas.
The migration of the Bull family was from VA>NC>GA>MS>AR>OK>TX and all points from there throughout the United States of America.
