Report # 4
1426. Jean Blanchard, born 1611 in Port Royal, Annapolis, Acadia. He wasthe son of Guillaume Blanchard and Huguette Poirier. He married1427.Radegonde Lambert 1642 in Port Royal, Annapolis, NS.
1427. Radegonde Lambert, born 1621. She was the daughter of JehanLambert and MicMac Indian Woman.
Notes for Jean Blanchard: Within a year of his arrival with his parents, Jehan Blanchard marries inPort-Royal, Radegonde Lambert, daughter ofJehan Lambert with an IndianMicmaque, about 1628 or 1629. If he were borninto 1621, like says itthecensus of 1686, it would have been born withthe strong first ofPort-Royal, on northern bank of the Basin ofPort-Royal.
In the Acadian census of 1671, Jehan Blanchard, farmer, is 60 years old,his wife Radegonde Lambert, 42 years. They have 5 arpents ofgroundcleared, with twelve animals with horns and nine ewes.
Notes for Radegonde Lambert: If Radegonde was born in 1621, as the census of 1686 states, she wouldhave been the first baby at Port-Royal,on northern bank of the Basin ofPort-Royal. She was only 12 or 13 yearsat the time of her marriage, which was the custom in Acadie at that time, because the girls to bemarried there are excessively rare. She would havebeen 20 years old, ifher birth was about 1621. Contrary to what occurs inNew France (fils duroi), girls were not sent to be married in Acadie. Themarriageable girlswere born there or came with their families.
Child of Jean Blanchard and Radegonde Lambert is: 713 i. Anne Marie Blanchard, born 1645; married (1) Francois Guerin;married (2) PierreL'Aine Gaudet 1670 in Port Royal, Annapolis, NS.

"I made a serious mistake in the July newsletter and need to make a correction here. I said that Jean BLANCHARD was NOT the son of GuillaumeBLANCHARD and Radegonde LAMBERT. I should have said that the progenitorcouple was Jean BLANCHARD and Radegonde LAMBERT, his parents unknown. They had a son Guillaume who married Huguette GOUGEON, daughter ofAntoine GOUGEON and Jeanne CHABRAT (who had been married to JehanPOIRIER.) Arsenault got confused and gives the parents of Jean asGuillaume and Huguette POIRIER. These people did not exist."
This is a hypothetical Blanchard that is required for Ren to be the"petit-fils" of Guillaume, as stated by Fide Thriault.
