Individual:
Land transactions indicate that Nicholas Ware (III) had propertyin Essex County in the early 1700s. He also was living in Stratton Major Parish of King and Queen County, Virginia. This conclusion is reached from the following:
Records of Essex County Deeds and Wills, Virginia, No. 14, page 118.
Lease and Release: 6th and 7th of May 1713. Richard Long, planter of St. Mary's Parish, Essex County sells to Nicholas Ware, Jr. of the Parish of Statton Major in the County of King and Queen, 71 acres in St. Mary's Parish, bounded by the land of Samuel Elliot, John Buckner, a branch of the Golden Vale, the land of John Long and Harrison's line.

THIS INDENTURE made the Sixth Day of May in the year of our Lord God One Thousand Seven hundred and Thirteen BETWEEN Richard Long of the parish of St. Mary's in the County of Essex planter the one part and Nicholas Ware, Junior of the parish of Stratton Major in the County of King & Queen of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Richard Long for and in consideration of the summof five shillings lawful money sterling by him the said Nicholas to him the said Richard in hands apid before the Sealing and Swaring hereof the Receipt whereof the said Richard doth hereby acknowledge and thereof & of every part and partof thereof dothhereby acquitt (sic) and discharge him the said Nicholas his heirs and assigns. HATH Granted, bargained, and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain be sold unto the said Nicholas Ware his heirs and assigns one hundred and seventy one acres & a quarter of landsituate lying and being in the parish of St. May's in the County of Essex foresaid and bounded forthwath (to wit) beginning at the tird hiccory cornor tree of Samuell (sic) Elliott's and then on along the said Elliot's land to off three hunderd and ten poles to a white oak another coner of the said Elliot in John Burknor's lands then on along the Said Burknor's land North forty nine poles to a stake by the head of a branch of Golden Vale being a Cornor of John Long's land thence along the said Long;s land East North East and fifteen poles to two great populars in the Said Long's land then along the Said line East one hundred and thirty five poles to a red oak in his Said line thence along the Said Long's land north fifty poles to a Red oak & a Spanish oak cornor trees of the Said Long in Harrisson'sand thence along the Said Line East Sixty nine poles to a white oak cornor of the said Harrisson's and thence South one hundred & forty poles to the begining and all houses, buildings, orchards, gardens, yards, bricksides and fences & other things thereon Standing, growing or being and the (unreadible phrase) thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said land and premises unto the said Nicholas Ware, his Equity, heirs Assigns from the day ofthe date (unreadible) During and unto the full End and Form of Six months from thence next spring & fully to be fomcoat (?) & End and To the End that by virtue of those profound and of ye Statute for Transferring possession of this Said Nicholas Ware may Go in full & actual possission of the property & is enabled to take and accept of a grant and release of the Land to him the Said Nicholas Ware, his heirs and assigns forever.
