Nicholas Ware lived in Rappahannock County. On January 3, 1661, a certificate had that day signed a power of attorney to Mr. John Ware, of Rappahannock. Unfortunately portions of this document have been destroyed by nature, thus it may not be copied in its entireity. There is sufficent portions remaining to show that it gives full and complete power of attorney to "beloved friend, John Weir."
This doucment is on file in "Old Rappahannock County Records, Deed Book # 2, 1656-64, page 223.

BE IT KNOWN unto all men by these presents that I Nicholas Ware, now resident in the County of Rappahannock in Virginia, Merchant an holden and firmly bound unto John Vassall of the Island of Barbadoes, Merchant, in the full Sum of Seventeen thousand two hundred and thirty four pounds of Good Merchantable Tobacco and Casks and to be paid unto the said John Vassall his heirs Executors, administrators or assignes or to his Lawfull Attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and Done. I, the Said Nicholas Ware and my heirs, Executors and administers firmly by these presents. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of April one thousand Six Hundred Sixty and two and in the thirteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King Charles the Second. THE CONDITION of this obligation us Such that whereas the above bounden Nicholas Ware hath bought and Received of the above named John Vassall four good heathful negroes Viz two men and two woman and that there remains due in part for the said negoes the sum of Eight thousand Six hundred and seventeen pounds of Good Tobacco and Casks. If therefore the above bounden Nicholas Ware shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the above named John Vassall, his heirs Executors or Assigns the aforesaid full and the whole sum of Eight thousands Six hundred and Seventeen pounds of sound and Merchantable Virginia Leaf Tobacco with Sufficient casks to contain the same within the County of Rappahannock within the County of Rappahannock in Virginia at or upon the fourth day of October next Ensining the and whereof that then this obligation to be void and of non Effector Else to Remain in full force, power and virtue.

On pages 227-228, Old Rappahannock County Deed Book, # 4, 1668-1672, Part 1. there is an entry regarding the settlement of the estate of Nicholas Ware. The entry is dated 1 April 1670. It is copied below.

He appoints Friend John Wickens to be his executor to finish his administration of business concerning Master Nicholas Ware. Entries name the following who were also in the above entry: John Pynchon from New England, Capt. Sam Pensax, and Capt John Ware of Virginia.
