Facts #1 Alberta Potter Gross burial Jackson Cemetery,Breathitt County.Kentucky
Alberta ,had a stroke ,and was in a wheel chair for the last 22 years of her life.She died
from heart failure. Mother of eight children.She had to have her right leg removed ,due to
poor circulation,It was above the right knee, She lived about 3 to 4 years after this,she
was about 5 ft,5 around 150 lbs,until the last years,She had blue eyes
. #2 James or Jim as he is known to every one,6ft 4in about 180,brown eyes,black curly
hair,in his younger years, later years,going bold on top,with gray around sides.Very strick,
very religious person,He fell at the age of 84 and broke his hip.had to have surgery to fix
his hip,in the winter of 2005 He also lost a leg to poor circulation,right,leg above the knee,
in the summer of 2005. After the fall that broke his hip,Jim moved into the home of his
son Billy Gene,
#3 Jim was raised by his Uncle and aunt his,parents both died while he was small.He had
one sister,she was raised by another family members,they didnot get to see each other,He
said he talked with her on the phone after they were both up in the later years of life.
# 4 Going by the 1900 Breathitt Census,George was born in March of 1895 ,so he would
have been around 24 when Jim Gross was born # 3 Alberta and Jim were married in
Jackson,Ky by Rev.Jasper Robinson, Jim was 23 Alberta was 22 witness were Ester and
Dora Potter
