Notes: Served as a private in the Massachusetts militia at Fort Clinton, 1778. DAR Patriotic Index v 136 p274 "served as private in Captain Lawrence's Co., Col. Poor's regiment, Massachusetts militia." He was married to Hannah Johnson of Stafford Springs, Stafford Spa, Toland Co., Connecticut He moved to N. Adams, Massachusetts in 176_ and lived there the rest of his life. John Eaton, (1724-88), served as a private in the Massachusetts militia at Fort Clinton, 1778. He was born in Dedham, Massachusetts In 1788, Elisha, Wyman, Comfort, Rufus and John came to Eatonsville Will dated 6/2/1788; probated 1/1789 Minor children: Wyman, Rufus, Comfort, & Hannah; Johnathan Richardson appointed guardian.
