Marvin Massey was sixteen when his father died. His mother put them all in the Pryor Orphanage in Oklahoma. Marvin ran away. He was in Hollywood when he met and married someone to give their baby a name. The baby was Ilona Massey, the movie star. Then he came back to Oklahoma and married Ida Mae Dobbins.

Marvin was named for his Uncle Albert Lawson and his father Albert Fincher Massey.

Marvin was buried 19 December 1965 in the Colbert Cemetery, Colbert, Bryan County, Oklahoma.
