Individual:
For Samuel, I found an abstract regarding a note and judgement associated
with Samuel on a Wm. McCafferty to James Templeton and Wm. Morrison. Exrs.
Alex. Dobbins receipt Aug. 17. 1786 to James Templeton for part rec'd by wife
of Dobbins, Feb. 1, 1785. Vouchers and receipts include: Edward Meloney,
Zebulon Brevard, John Davison, Achd. Templeton, a legatee, David Templeton, a
legatee. Four legatees are mentioned: David and Archibald Templeton, Ann
Bravard, Jane Dobbins.
It would appear Samuel's wife was deceased since she is not mentioned. The
"Jane" Dobbins is probably the Jean you are referring to and the Alex.
Dobbins is her husband.
My notes state Ann was probably born in NC and the other
children and parents born in Scotland. I have not been able to determine
when the family arrived in America.
