He was in a car that went over a mountain in CA. He was buried in Durant, Bryan Co., OK. He was in the Spanish War. Private in Co. E, 1st regiment of Alabama Infantry. He mustared in at Mobile, AL on 13 May 1898. Age 21, Height 5ft. 7in, Complexion fair, eyes blue, hair light brown. Occupation, Farmer. He traveled 388 miles from Moulton, AL to Mobile, AL to muster in.
He applied for a pention on 28 July 1930. Pension says he was a Private in Company E, First Regiment Alabama Volunteers during the Spanish War.
He had a partial paralysis of left side of face, first stroke having occurred about 15 years ago and at that time his head gave him trouble.
In the 1910 census of Bryan Co., OK, Township #6, House #99, you will find J. M. Dobbins, wife T. E. Dobbins and 2 children.
