Text: Mabel C. VanWagnen, 4903 W. Main, age 69, died Sat. 22 March 1969, at the residence of her da
ughter.Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tues. at Millington Nazarene Church, Rev. O.E. Burton officiating. Burial in Millington Township Cemetery. Freinds may call at the Hanlin Funeral Home. Mrs. VanWagnen will ie in state at the church from 1:00pm until time of services Tues. Mrs. VanWagnen was born in Tawas City, 6 May 1899, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Smith and had een a resident of Millington since 1920. She married John VanWagnen, 29 Aug. 1919 in Flint, and was a member of Millington Nazarene chruch, Treasurer of the church and missionary society since 1950, and a honorary member fo future homemakers of America. Mrs. VanWagnen was a local correspondent for the Flint Journal since 1962. The Saginaw News since 1965.The Tuscola County Advertiser and the Millington Herald since 1964. Surviving are: husban, John;Daughter, Mrs. Gordon(Lois) Shultz of Saginaw; son, Norwood of Clio; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;4 brothers, Chester R. Smitih of Flint, Fred Smithof Flushing, Roy Smith of Largo, Florida, and Henry Smith of Tawas City; 3 sisters, Mrsl Celia Warren of Dewitt, Mrs. Bernice Herriman and Mrs. Mary Pfahl, both of Tawas city; nieces and nephews, in leiu of flowers, gifts may be given to the church missionary fund for th e project Fairy Cochlinc Clinic, care of Millington Nazarene Church.Date: 24 Mar 1969
