!John Hunt XII is the ancestor who assisted in establishing American independence while actin g in the capacity of company clerk in Capt. John Vinton's company; he was a sargent in Capt. Vinton's independent company; private Luke Howell's company, Col. Tyler's regiment.

!John Hunt, residence Braintree, MA served as company clerk in Capt. John Vinton's company wh ich marched in response to the Lexington alarm. He served three days then. Later he was sargent in Capt. Vinton's company for eight months and eighteen days, enlisting May 3rd, 1775. Also he served as a private in Capt. Luke Howell's company, Col. Tyler's regiment from July 13, 1779, to Jan 1, 1780.
