Text: Will Of John H. Hurdle:
I John H. Hurdle, of the County of Marshall and the State of Mississippi begin of sound and disposing mind and memory and more then twenty one years of age do hereby make and publish and declare this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all Wills hereto fore made by me.
Item 1:-I direct that all of my just debts be first paid out of my estate, by my executors hereinafter named.
Item 2:-I hereby will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Margaret Hurdle all of my estate, real, personal and mixed, wheresoever situated, during the term of her natural life. My estate to be kept intact for the support and maintenance of my said wife, and the support of my daughter Lilly May Hurdle, who is now a single woman.
Item 3:-I give,devise and bequeath unto my daughter Lilly May Hurdle, as a special legacy, the sum of $ 1000.00 One thousand dollars, at the death of my said wife provided my said daughter Lilly May is unmarried at that time, but should she marry or be married at the death of my said wife then this item of my will is void.
Item 4:-At the death of my said wife Margaret Hurdle my estate is to be equally divided among my children and grandchildren share and share alike, Viz J. W. Hurdle, J. G. Hurdle, J. C. Hurdle, J. F. Hurdle, Mrs Frances T. Boswell, Mrs. Margaret E. Curl and Lilly May Hurdle and my grandchildren Lois Hurdle, Ruth Hurdle and Grace Hurdle, children of my deceased son Albert Hurdle, they taking their deceased parents share.
Item 5:-I appoint my two sons, J. W. Hurdle and J. C. Hurdle, as executors of this my last will and testament, and exempt them from the execution of any bond or security as such, and direct that they be not required to make and inventory appraisement report or accounting to any court whatever.
I futher direct, authorize and empower my said executors from the income of my estate, after the support and maintenance of my wife, Margaret, and my daughter, Lilly May has been deducted, to add to my estate from surplus funds, bu investing same in real estate or any other good and safe investment, with power to sell and covey and property acquired by them as Executor from any such surplus or income.
