Will and Testament of Thomas Martin
In the name of the benevolent father of all I Thomas Martin of the County of Jefferson and State of Indiana being of a sound mind though in a feeble state of health do make and publish this my last will and testament.
Item 1st: I will that all my just debts be paid out of my estate.
Item Second: I give and devise my beloved wife Alice Martin a sufficienty of my goods, real and personal to her maintainance during her natural life.
Item 3rd: I do hereby give and bequeath to my beloved son Robert Martin the sum of Three Hundred dollars to be paid as soon as my executor can conveniently sell my Real Estate and receive pay for the same.
Item 4th: I will that my beloved wife Alice Martin hold my entire estate for the acruity of her maintainance during her natural life and at her death my entire estate be then sold and equally divided with my beloved children.
Item 5th: I do hereby appoint John Martin Executor of this my last will and testament, I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 4th day of August in the year 1869.

On this day appeared in my office Mathew Robinson, one of the subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of Thomas Martin, late of said county deceased who being duly sworn on his oath saith he saw the said Thomas Martin sign and seal the foregoing paper as his will and that he with James _ Spicer, subscribed the same as witnesses in the presence of each other and in the presence and at the request of said Thomas Martin. This deponent further saith said Thomas Martin was at the time of making and executing said paper as his will, of full age to devise his property and of sound mind and memory and not under coercion and restraint and that he did publish and declare the same to be his will and further saith not.

About 1903 Charles E. Martin of Covington, Kenton Co., KY, as executor of the will of James Martin and subsequent to the death of James' wife Belle Jane (Wilson) Martin, sells the entire Section 35, Town 5, Range 8 property (87.5 acres) to Hamilton Morrison for $375.
13 Feb 1903 John E. Martin and his wife, Minnie E. Martin, of Marion Co., IN sell to George A. Shinness (of Jefferson Co., IN) their half interest in the Boardman property for $405. This is the same interest purchased for $3000 on 15 Dec 1902. On this same day: Carrie and Charles Christophel, Robert E. and Sarah E. Martin of Newark, NJ, and Charles and Christina Martin of Covington, KY; execute a power of attorney to John E. Martin to sell their interest in the Boardman property.
15 Jan 1904 George A. Shinness makes final accounting of Ann Boardman's estate to the court. John E. Martin was Ann's guardian. (A man named Harry or Henry Boardman was paid for services rendered). John and Thomas (her brothers) Martin's shares went to John E. Martin. The children of Robert Martin (her deceased brother): Robert R. Martin, John E. Martin, Ida B. Shaw and Rilla Pierce, assigned their 1/16 shares to George Shinness. The children of James Martin (her deceased brother) were entitled to be paid their 1/16 shares ($16.47): Charles Edgar Martin, Robert Edward Martin, Carrie Bell Christophel and James Thomas Martin (erroneously listed as John in the record).
