Individual:
Judicial Sale of the community property of Nicolas Keller and the late Agnes Schexnayder took place 10/20-21/1804 (see Conrad, German Coast, page 129)
"Declaration of Nicolas Keller and his wife, Angèlique Rodrigue. Nicolas Keller and his wife, Angèlique Rodrigue, resident of the Acadian Coast, declared in the presence of Louis de Grandmont and Jacques Delagroue, that they gave one another usufruct of the community property following the death of either one. The survivor was to enjoy the usufruct until death. After the death of the survivor, a sum of $7,000 was to be taken from the community and divided among the children of Nicolas Keller by his first wife. Similarly, a sum of $16,000 was to be taken from the community to be divided among the children of Angèlique Rodrigue and her first husband, Jean-Louis Deslattre. Any amount above and beyond the stated amounts was to be divided among the children of their marriage.
"Renunciation, February 6 (?), 1807. Angèlique Rodrigue, Widow Nicolas Keller, declared that the above donation was entirely out of order because her late husband's obligations and responsibilities were greater than hers. She therefore gave power of attorney to Adam Schexnayder to revoke the above declaration. Done in Acadian County." (SJB No. 43, 8/29/1806, in Conrad, German Coast, page 149)Witnesses at marriage were Juan Bever, Carlos Petaven, Juan PortierWitnesses at marriage were Jean Baptiste Delatre, Antoine Foltz, Martin Songi
