Notes of JHC: A medical practioner of Olney, Nr Northampton, He married Mary Womersley whose family descend ed from King Edward lll through the third wife of John of Gaunt.(or so it has been claimed!) Lady Florence Neville ( Wormersley) was married to Lord George Neville. The Wormersleys were connected to the Fry's (Quakers). (There is a strong Quaker ancestry, and certainly many connections however the connection to the Fry's is not yet established. JRMC Jan 2003) Notes of JRMC Dr Hammond was dead at the time of his son's Walter Robert's marriage on the 12th Feb 1862 ac cording to the marriage certificate of that date.
