Not sure where the info for Eliz Burgess came from. Other notes indicated they married in 18 34 in Georgia from marriage records on file there. However, she would be 50+ yrs old if she was really born in 1780. However, I believe there are 2 Elizabeth Burgesses (one b. 1785 and one b. 1812 -ours) and that someone has mixed up the two people. Will try and confirm data. -Carla 2006
1850 Putnam, GA Census shows Elizabeth (no husband) with daus, Elizabeth, Sarah, and Harriet . They are listed in Mathew Roby's will as wife and daus. I believe Mathew's other children were from a first marriage a lady named Mary "Polly" Morgan. Marriage records with Polly on file.
