Update: This Mathew Roby is the Mathew listed in Josiah Burgess' will as a son-in-law.
Most of the info on this Mathew and spouses and children is NOT confirmed by me. Too much con flicting data on the web to know for sure. One source says Mathew's wife was Mary Morgan (could this be Polly Morgan?) and mother to Blanch Walton Roby. I'm not sure. And says he was born in Maryland not Georgia. Mary and Polly are sometimes synonymous. -Carla 6/2006

1830 Putnam, GA Census Mathew aged 50-60, wife aged 30-40 (fits Polly Morgan)
1840 Putnam, GA Census
Mathew's Will lists wife Elizabeth, daus Harriet, Sarah, and Elizabeth, Thomas (who is not co nfirmed as a child yet), and other children per akem827@aol.com research. I believe Mathew had at least 2 wives, Polly Morgan then Elizabeth Burgess based on census records and marriage records on file in Georgia. -Carla 6/18/2007
