About 1827, Ebenezer moved his family (second wife Sarah and son Eben by his first wife) to Pensacola, Florida. there he became master andowner of a vessel cruising in the Gulf trade and owned slaves and realestate in Pensacola and Escambia County. In 1841 he was appointedU.S. Marshall for the Western District of the Territory of Florida; in1845 when Florida became a state, he was elected the first Sheriff ofEscambia County, a post he held until his death.Probably in Pensacola, Florida, There is a Dorr House that was
