At the age of 17, he left home and became associated with his brother
in the drug business at Athens, under the firm name of E.G. Dorr & Co.In 1873 the firm name was changed to H.K. & Co.; his brother opened adrug store in Columbus, Ohio, and retired from the Athens Business in1876. Hadley continued the business alone. 1900 Census, Athens County-- Hadley, Lucy (sister) 45.
