Individual:
The following is a letter sent to me by Edna Mae Jeanette Woodruff:
"I'm sending you a copy of the history (Jenelle's) of the Heaton's and she copied this while Mrs. Heaton was still living, but Granny Heatonreally had 6 sons, one died in infancy and said she called him littleJimmy, then she named another son Jim.
Granny Heaton told me many stories about the Civil War, and how her mother knew the soldiers were coming and she hid Granny under afeather mattress, and when the soldiers came in the house they pokedaround on the bed with a bayonnet and she said it slipped down by herback. She said they didn't bank money in those days and when the Warwas over they had a trunk full of paper money, but it was no good. Soshe said they used it to start fires. I loved talking to her. Sheout lived her 6 sons. 101 going on 102.
Well, I hope you will forgive me for being so long answering, but sure love to hear from you again, send my love to all. Clara Mae Heaton"
