Sarah was John's 2nd wife. They sued her mother of her share of her father, Nicholas's estate in February 1689. While the case continued in court, Sarah's mother married twice after the death of Nicholas. The court finally awarded Sarah and John Crew 4605 pounds of tobacco on March 3, 1690. John contributed 400 pounds of tobacco toward to building of Curles Neck Quaker Meeting House, Henrico Co., Virginia in 1699. 1711 John was appointed clerk of Henrico Monthly Meeting. 1726 John had 1 mare, 76 pounds of tobacco, a gun and 5 pewter dishes taken from him for fines for refusing to bear arms and paying tithes. 1727 John reported imprisoned and fined for refusing to bear arms. 1747 John reported he had 1 horse seized for fines.
