Individual:
Born in TN 8-26-1840.
He and his family moved from AR to Indian Territory about 1 892. They lived about 1 1/2 or 2 miles Southeast of Braggs, I.T. which was later the state of OK in 1907. William died 3-13-1911 and was buried in the old McCracken cemetery located just inside Cherokee county near the Muskogee county line on the bank of big Greenleaf creek where it makes a bend. In 1942 the cemetery was relocated to Greenleaf cemetery Southwest of Tahlequah, OK. He and grandma Hinds have headstones just alike. They were buried side by side in the old McCracken cemetery but now a little road separates the stones. My uncle Tom Sanders knew William Hinds and said he was a Union soldier in the Civil War.two more children that died while in AR. On the 1900 census I found that they had 12 children but only nine living at that time
They moved from Arkansas to Indian Territory about 1892.
Civil War Pension to Mary J. Hinds
1900 they lived in Township 14, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory with Mollie, Fate, David F. Malissa Maxwell an her 2 daughters, Joe, her husband is not mentioned ?, and Ina Dorsey.
