Individual:
Question: Is the following Fielding Bell connected to the Fielding Bell of NC?
A Fielding Bell appeared as an executor of will of his father George Bell d.1816 of Mero district of Wilson County, TN. He sold land in Wilson County in 1826 and moved with his wife Elizabeth (Jenkins) to Bedford County, TN with son Thomas H. Bell, Joel Allen Bell, and James W. Bell plus unknown female children. It is not proven to date, but it appears that Fieldings first name was Robert, but census and other records used only Fielding Bell. Thomas H. Bell appears in Goodspeed's history of Bedford County, TN. Children of James W. Bell included Joseph Conway Bell d. 1862 Battle of Perryville, KY, Robert Fielding Bell d. 1924, Fayetteville, AR, and John Allen Bell MD who migrated to Pontotoc County, MS in December 1860. Joseph Conway was also an MD. A third son of James W. Bell, Samuel Houston Bell, was also an MD who migrated to Beeville, TX about 1880. All three of these MD sons of James W. Bell graduated from Nashville Medical College. This information is primarily from census records and land deed records of TN. James W. Bell d 1890 and wife Esther (Hettie) Orr had eight sons and four daughters.
