In 1910, Albert's wife & family are living in Union Twp., Union Co., SC with his widowed mother-in-law, Debbie Gentry. So, where is Albert? Another interesting bit of info gleaned from the census is that he and Emma had been married under a year, but they had two children, Bertie & Roy. Since Roy is listed as being a newborn, either he was conceived just after they were married, or he was the reason for the marriage. Which makes me wonder about Bertie and whether or not she was Albert's daughter (and they just got around to getting married, since she's listed as being 5) or someone else's.

According to his brother Baxter's Obituary, Albert was still alive and living in Gastonia at the time of his death in 1962. This would have made him somewhere in his seventies.

Hey Barb, haven't heard from you in a while. I visited with Arthur Meadows' daughter, Azelpha Matthews last Saturday. She was telling me that Arthur had a brother named Alfred. I had never heard about him until then. She let me get copies of pictures of Baxter his wife, Lizzie, Alfred, Arthur and his wife Onie. She also told me that Mary Ann died in Gastonia (Gaston County,N.C.) but she didn't know when. Alfred died June 27,1956 in Gaston County. I will send you pictures soon. Tim Meadows
