The following info supplied by Charles S. Adair
Gerald D. Weese married my mother's sister. Dorothy Lenear. They lived in Spartanburg, SC. He was a very soft spoken man, with a gentle disposition. He was at Normandy during WWII. When I was a child of 11 or 12, I would visit him quite often. He developed heart problems, which he later died of. I don't know when he was born, and have no one left to ask. The SSDI lists his death as July, 1960, but has no birth date.

Gerald Daniel Weese, 36, of 231 Briarcliff Road, died at Oteen, NC Tuesday afternoon after a short illness. A native of Etowah, NC, he was a salesman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and attended Brevard College. He was the son of the late Gerald D. Weese, Sr.
Surviving are: his wife Dorothy Lanier Weese; one daughter, Dorothy Lynn Weese; one son, Gerald Daniel Weese, Jr. of the home; his mother, Mrs. W. M. Chertok of Spartanburg; three half-sisters, Mrs. Drexel Gault of Indiana, Mrs R. H. Jennings, Jr. of Miami, FL, Mrs. Wayne Larkin of Spartanburg; two half-brothers, Robert Shertok of Miami, Michael Shertok of Spartanburg. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 A.M. at the J. F. Floyd Mortuary by Dr John L. Slaughter. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The body will remain at the mortuary.
I would estimate that his true birth date is 1919. Obituary list him as 36, but this would make him 40 or 41.
