(The following told by his brother Marcy) Information on his Purple Heart revealed that he died June 8, 1942 after the death march which arrived at a Japanese prison camp on May 12, 1942. More information in the book "The Naked Flagpole" taken from the diary of Col. Richard Malonee and published by the Colonel's son with the help of some of the surviving officers and Phillippine officers.
