Titus Gordon Vespasian SIMONS born Apr 15, 1773, died Dec 13, 1851 in Kendleville, NOBLE COUNTY, IN. His second wife was Sylvia JACKSON. His children were: Solomon Austin b 1795, Louise Lavinia b Nov 12, 1798, Titus Augustus b Aug 4, 1804, and David S. b 1806; all born in Warren County, PA. Louise married Ralph SMITH on Jan 5, 1815. Titus A. married Mary MITCHELL on Dec 27, 1828 in Clear Pt., Wayne County, OH. David S. married Frances Ann WIBLE on Apr 16, 1839 in Wayne County, OH. Need help finding Titus' parents and his first wife, name unknown. Titus always claimed that he was born in Massachusetts, but I can find no birth record. He always used his initials, so look for TGV SIMONS. He was said to be a surgeon, who practiced along the Erie Canal and ran a lumber business rafting logs down the rivers of PA with his father-in-law, Daniel Jackson. Also, he was a friend and mentor to Jedediah SMITH.
