Individual:
Initial information from Martin family members stated that Grover Johnson was born in Bedford in Lawrence County, Indiana, but birth and death certificates from the State of Indiana state he was born in Marion County. Believe the State information to be partially in error. Also located in Lawrence County during the late 1800's and early 1900's was Marion Township. The place of birth may have inadvertantly been changed by the State of Indiana. In his World War I Draft Registration Card, he listed his place of birth as Bedford, Indiana. He also stated that he was a laborer working at the Tally Poultry Company on North and Canal Streets in Indianapolis and his place of residence was 207 South Street.
