This seems to ind icate that Amanda was Victoria's daughter prior to her marr iage to Joseph Benham and creates a mystery as to who Amand a's actual father really was. Amanda Brooks was also liste d as two years old on the 1881 census and living with Chanc y and Jane Brooks (her Grandparents)26Amanda used the surna me Brooks at the time of her marriage to Andrew Moore (Refe r Brose Data). The only known use of the surname Benham wa s on the cemetery listing after her death
