Do you know where the name Lane came from?? ?
It came from the Adam De La LONE who went with William the Coquer when h e went into England from France to take over England in 1066. Adam De La Lone down ine a bit the name was changed to Lane and from that other variations due to peoples spelling as they thought it was spelled etc. to Laine, Layne, Lane, Lanne etc. Capt Samuel Lane from Queens Army was sent to Colony States of America in 1600's to take over the Colonies for England, but he didn't and stayed and that is my Lane from England. I have his Lane line back through with Richard Lane his father who came here and fought in the Bacon Rebellion and died.
