From the Society's journal Volume IV, No. 4, 1980, Summer: "The followi n g is a list of wills (originals) from Randolph County, N.C., found at A rc hives & History, Raleigh, North Carolina. These wills were compared wi t h the Will Books, the book and page is given. Key: name; date on Ralei g h file; book and page in Randolph Co.'s Will Book, date of will, (dat e wi ll was probated)."
'"Carr, Susannah - 1859; B.11 p. 302, 1844 (1859)." - This will does n o t list Henry Carr as a son. He lived until 1842, and the will was writt e n in 1844.
The following information may be relevant to another William Carr, as ov e rwhelming info indicates that this William A. Carr was a Tory. Willia m C arr entered the Revolutionary War at an early age.
Notes for Susannah [Unknown]: Was her surname Alexander or Austin? Jone s ? No evidence, just speculation. Lidd Jones was buried at the same cem et ery with William A. Carr and Susannah. He (she?) died aged 78 on Octob e r 7, 1837. That would give a birth-date of about 1759, too young to b e th e mother or father of Susannah. The will of Susannah Carr does NO T menti on a son Henry Carr, who died in 1842 (2 years before will was si gned). I t mentions: "my four children (viz) John Carr, Jane Williams , Susanna h Needham and Nancy Williams ..." The will was signed Novemb er 6, 184 4 and was executed August term 1859, Randolph Co., NC (Randolp h County Wi ll Book 11, page 302).
