Born in Patrick Co. or Grayson Co. (according to John P. Alderman, the Isaac Martin family moved from Patrick Co. to Grayson Co. about 1830, and about 1830 is what I have for Giles S.' birth, too.) Notes for Penelope Quesenberry Dates of birth and death from Cemetery Records of Carroll County. The entry lists her as "GILES, Penelope Quesenberry Martin, wife of Capt. G. S. Martin." Mary Q. Kell confirms that this was an error in recording the cemetery, the first name of her husband being mistaken for a surname.
