  3. Title: Obituary of Nicholas Joseph Bruyer
    Text: Nicholas J. Bruyer

    Requiem mass was celebrated Thursday morning at 10 o'clock for the
    late Nicholas J. Bruyer at St. Matthew's church by Msgr. F. X.O'Farrell. Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at 8 o'clockat theWaggener and Campbell chapel. There were many beautiful flowers forthe services and the large church was filled by the many friends.Members of the American Legion attended in a body. Friends acting aspall bearers were Henry Smith, John Graham, Gregory Duffy, MilanTucker, James Gustin, Edward Tetrault, John Hebert and A JBraunberger. Interment was in the Conrad Memorial cemetery where amilitary salute and taps closed the services.
    Obituary
    Nicholas Joseph Bruyer was born August 4, 1893 at Burbank, South
    Dakota. At the age of seven he came to Kalispell where he lived formore than 45 years. He farmed with his father and in June 1918, heenlisted for service in World War I as a mechanice in Battery D, 38thField Artillery and received his honorable discharge January 24, 1919.
    He returned to the farm after the war and on Januray 23, 1922 he
    married Miss Mabel E. Nelson, in 1928 he took over the home farm andoperated it as the Kal-Mont dairy until he retired a short time ago.He was a member of St. Matthew's church and the American Legion.
    Mr. Bruyer passed away Feb 3, 1946 in Kalispell at the age of 52
    years.
    He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mabel Bruyer, at their new home
    south of Somers on the lake shore; one son, Robert in the U. S. Navy;and one daughter, Mrs. Frances Moss of Whitefish. One brother Phillippassed away in Sept. 1944 at Corvallis, Oregon; and three brothers andone sister survive; Lawrence, Elmer and Ben, and Mrs. Oscar Tetrault,all of Kalispell.

    Requiem high mass for Elmer L Bruyer, 66, was celebrated Wednesday at
    St. Matthew's Catholic Church, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Michael JHalligan as celebrant. Rosary for Mr. Bruyer was recited Tuesdayevening in Waggener and Campbell Chapel.
    Burial was Wednesday morning in the family section of Conrad Memorial
    Cemetery with Barry Braunberger, Charles Rohrman, J. E. Gustin, PercyMcClarty, Charles White and Milan Tucker pallbearers.
    Elmer Lewis Bruyer was born July 14, 1891, a son of Julius and Susan
    Birgen Bruyer at Burbank, S. D. As a young boy, in 1901, he came tothe Flathead with his parents to live north of Kalispell. Mr. Bruyerhad made his home in the Flathead since and had engaged in farming. Atthe time of his death he was operating his farm north of Kalispell.
    He died in the Kalispell hospital Sept. 1.

    On Oct. 1, 1919, he married Clara Koenig in Kalispell and was preceded
    in death by his wife in 1946.
    Surviving Mr. Bruyer are his two sons, George Bruyer of Kalispell and
    John Bruyer in the Air Force; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Swennes ofLibby, Mrs. Erma Bibb and Mrs. Josephine Walter, both of Kalispell;one sister, Mrs. Oscar Tetrault of Kalispell; two brothers, Lawrence ABruyer and Ben Bruyer, both of Kalispell; and 10 grandchildren.

    Text: Phillip Bruyer dies Friday Evening

    Phillip Michael Bruyer, 60, and a resident of 834 North Second street,
    died at 11:40 last night in a local hospital. The remains are in theKeeney Funeral Home and funeral plans will be made later.
    Mr. Bruyer was born in Burbank, South Dakota, April 26, 1884, and
    resided there until he was 17 when he went to Kalispell, Montana,where he farmed until 1926. He came to Stayton, Oregon, and then toCorvallis in that same year, and for 18 years had been employed asmachinist for the Western Oregon Packjing company. He was a memeber ofthe Catholic church.
    In 1910, in Kalispell, Mr. Bruyer married Margaret Haberman. She
    survives with one son, Leo Bruyer, serving with the United Statesforces and just recently home from India on furlough, and onedaughter, Mrs. Helen Schiller of Salem. A sister, Mrs. ElizabethTetrault of Kalispell, has been at her brother's bedside. There arefour brothers, Lawrence, Elmer, Nicholas and Benjamin Bruyer, all ofKalispell and a little grandson, Phillip.Quality: 2

    The rosary was recited in the Johnson Chapel Thursday evening for Mrs.
    Oscar Tetrault. Requiem high mass was celebrated in St. Matthew'sChurch. Friday morning with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. M. J. Halligan ascelebrant. Responses to the mass were sung by the St. Matthew's choir.The pallbearers, all nephews of Mrs. Tetrault included Francis andCharles O'Connell, George Bruyer and Roger, Leonard and ArthurMotichka. Interment was in the Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
    Elizabeth Josephine Bruyer was born in Burbank, S.D., May 25, 1898, to
    Julius and Susanna Birgen Bruyer. She came to Kalispell when she wasthree years old with her parents and had spent her entire lifetime inthe Flathead valley.
    In the fall of 1926 she went to California with her father to spend
    the winter and while she was there she was married to Oscar Tetraultin Long Beach, California. They returned to Kalispell and she livedhere until her death.
    She is survived by her husband, Oscar, in Kalispell and two brothers,
    Leonard and Ben Bruyer, both in Kalispell. She is also survived byseveral nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tetrault died at her home, 459 ThirdAvenue East-North, Tuesday evening, May 12 at the age of 60.
