    Text: Anna H. Pratt of Visalia Dies

    Mrs. Anna H. Pratt, 83, a resident of Visalia for more than 20
    years, died this morning in a Visalia hospital. She made her home at1514 Burrel Ave. A native of Canada, she came to the United States in 1906 and
    lived in Long Beach. She was married to the late Alvin D. Pratt inLong Beach in 1908. The couple owned and operated a dairy ranch in the Long Beach
    area. Shortly after their marriage they moved the entire dairyoperation, including the herd of cattle and milking equipment, torural Tulare by train. They had one of the first water pumping systems in the area using
    gas turbines for power. After Mr. Pratt died in 1911, Mrs. Pratt continued to operate the
    ranch until 1928. She then moved to the city of Tulare living thereuntil 1940 when she came to Visalia. She was a member of the Tulare Rebekah Lodge.
    She is survived by a daughter, Harriet Moore of Visalia; a
    step-daughter, Mrs. Clarence Wharton of Los Angeles; a brother,William T. Hay of San Angelo, Tex., and two granddaughters, Judy Mooreof Visalia and Patricia Moore of Los Angeles. Gravesite services will be held at the Tulare Cemetery Friday at
    10 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. John Wilcox of St. Paul'sEpiscopal Church of Visalia. Friends may call at the Brooks Funeral Home in Visalia until
    Friday at 9 a.m.
