[Ourtree3.FTW] !Mary Jane Wise Murray LDS IGI, 1994 ed., vers 3.05 Jane: "in 1810 Wm. McFerrin was living in Rutherford Co, TN. He moved to Tipton Co in Nov 1832 where he lived with his son-in-law, Cullen Curlee. Wm. applied for his Rev. War pension on 7 Jun 1833. He died in Marshall Co, TN and his grave is marked with a U.S. Marker and a DAR marker. William McFerrin was the son of one of 3 McFerrin brothers who emigrated from Ireland to America about 1750 and settled in York Co, PA. Wm. later moved to Augusta Co, VA with his father. In Aug 1776 Wm. joined other militiamen on a 2 month campaign against the Cherokees on the Holston River in the vicinity of Long Island. The next year he joined a campaign fighting Shawnees in KY. In the spring of 1779 he moved with his father to Washington Co, VA to the Holston and was drafted for Indian campaigns in the spring and in Oct."
